Our Ministry Leaders

Lead Pastor Daniel Self
Daniel Self was raised in the Redstone, CO before deciding to leave for college in the South. Through his 15 years in Texas and Georgia he picked up a love for the Georgia Bulldogs but refused to pick up an accent. Daniel moved back to the Roaring Fork Valley and met his wife, Amy, a Virginia girl living in Aspen. They currently reside in Carbondale and have a son named Eli and daughter Selah.
Daniel loves to challenge and inspire the faith of others and firmly believes in two things: that there is no greater calling than being a follower of Jesus and that there is no greater football team than that of the Denver Broncos. He is more than willing to discuss either one with you.

Children’s Ministry Pastor Stacie Mayes
Stacie was born in Oklahoma. She and her husband Lane have been married for 26 years and have four children. Stacie has an MBA with an emphasis in Accounting. Her passion for children led her away from the accounting world and landed her in a position at her church as the Associate Children’s Pastor. Her favorite aspect of working with children is being able to be “Jesus with skin on” for the children she come in contact with. She loves leading worship with children and watching them humbly worship our Creator! She loves teaching children to serve in the church and in their communities. “It is much easier to teach them to have a heart for service when they are young”.

Pastoral Care and Inner Circle Discipleship Pastor Dr. Doug Self
Dr. Doug Self, and his wife, Rebecca were instrumental in founding our church in 1990. Not only does he enjoy preaching and teaching, but he likes taking guys camping, building relationships and helping men build a solid and authentic faith in Jesus. He has climbed all of Colorado’s fourteeners and has a doctorate from Denver Seminary. They have 3 married children and 7 Grandchildren!

Ministry Administrator
Ellen Morrison
Ellen Morrison was raised on the East Coast and was fortunate to settle in the Roaring Fork Valley when her husband had the opportunity to pursue a career with an Aspen based ski apparel company. Ellen and her husband of almost 20 years are blessed to have two awesome teenagers, two goofy dogs, and a handsome horse as part of the family. She enjoys volunteering and donating to causes that move her, such as animal rescues and organizations that offer individuals second chances.
Ellen brings communication and publishing skills to the team at The Orchard and is excited for the opportunity to serve her home church. She believes that we are all God’s children deserving of His unconditional saving grace and love and will approach and extend that to each person she reaches in her position. Her professional experience and expertise and heart for others will be an asset to furthering the vision of The Orchard to Love God. Love people.

Worship Leader
Micah Conklin
Micah was born and bred in Southern Louisiana. After soaking in the beauty of the Valley, she and her husband Eric decided to relocate in 2013 to pursue a job in the cardiac cath lab in Glenwood Springs. Micah has played with several worship bands over the last few years but truly feels at home leading worship here at The Orchard. Micah’s heart is to see God’s people be free to worship authentically and honestly.

Youth Pastor
Jesse Terrell
Jesse has lived in the valley since 2015 and has attended The Orchard since 2016. He has been very involved in the youth ministry at the Orchard.
He now lives in Gypsum with his wife Ruth and daughter Elizabeth. Jesse also has 3 adult children.
