Day 1: You Are In Jesus
Day 1: You Are In Jesus
Scripture — John 14:20 NLT
“When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
Also read: John 14:17, John 14:23, Colossians 3:3
Jesus did not describe the Christian life as simply “Jesus in my heart while I remain mainly defined by sin.” He gave us a much deeper, stronger, and more beautiful picture.
Today I will reject the half-gospel picture that says, “I am just a lowly sinner with Jesus somewhere inside me.” I will choose to live from this truth: I am in Jesus, and Jesus is in me.
Prayer
Jesus, help me believe what You say is true about me. Teach me to see myself not mainly through my failure, but through my position in You. Thank You that I am held, loved, and made new. Amen.

Jesus did not describe the Christian life as simply “Jesus in my heart while I remain mainly defined by sin.” He gave us a much deeper, stronger, and more beautiful picture.
- He said, “You are in me, and I am in you.”
- That means your life is not primarily located in failure, shame, weakness, or sin. If you belong to Jesus, your life is now located in Him. You are in Jesus. Jesus is in you. The Spirit lives within you. Your life is hidden with Christ in God.
- This matters because the “container” you believe you are in will shape the life you try to live.
- If you believe you are mainly in sin, you will probably spend your faith trying to manage sin. You will try harder, fail again, feel guilty, and try harder again.
- But if you believe what Jesus says is true, then obedience begins to feel different. It is no longer the desperate effort of someone trying to earn God’s love. It becomes the response of someone already held by God’s love.
- Today, do not begin with what you need to fix. Begin with where Jesus says you are.
- You are in Him.
- Where do I still tend to see myself as mainly defined by sin, failure, shame, or weakness?
- What would change today if I truly believed I am in Jesus, Jesus is in me, and the Spirit lives within me?
Today I will reject the half-gospel picture that says, “I am just a lowly sinner with Jesus somewhere inside me.” I will choose to live from this truth: I am in Jesus, and Jesus is in me.
