Day 4: Your Yes Matters

Day 4: Your Yes Matters
SCRIPTURE READING:
Isaiah 6:8
“Here I am! Send me.”
DEVOTIONAL REFLECTION
Many people imagine giving their life to Jesus as one dramatic moment.
Would I die for Jesus?
That is a serious question.
But for most of us, the more immediate question is not whether we would die for Jesus someday.
The question is whether we will live for Jesus today.
Will I live for Him in my home?
Will I live for Him at work?
Will I live for Him with my neighbors?
Will I live for Him with my money?
Will I live for Him with my words?
Will I live for Him when no one is applauding?
When Jesus is our banner, our yes begins to move.
It does not stay theoretical.
It does not stay sentimental.
It does not stay in the safe category of, “I believe some things about God.”
A true yes becomes embodied.
A true yes becomes obedience.
A true yes becomes movement.
That does not mean everyone goes across the world.
Most people will not go to Pakistan.
Most people will not stand in a dramatic missionary moment.
But every follower of Jesus is sent somewhere.
You may not go to the ends of the earth, but you can go across the street.
You may not get on a plane, but you can open your table.
You may not preach in another country, but you can invite a friend to come and see.
You may not teach the Bible overseas, but you can pray with your child, encourage a coworker, forgive an enemy, or serve someone who cannot repay you.
The point is not how far you go.
The point is whether Jesus has your yes.
A yes to Jesus in one person’s life can become a light to Jesus in another life.
You may never know all the ways your obedience matters.
You may never see every seed grow.
You may never hear every story.
But under the banner of Jesus, nothing surrendered is wasted.
Your yes matters more than you can imagine.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
• Where has Jesus already been asking for my yes?
• Am I waiting for a dramatic assignment while ignoring ordinary obedience?
• Who is one person God may be sending me to love, serve, invite, or encourage?
• What fear keeps me from saying yes?
• What would obedience look like this week?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I give You my yes. Not only for someday. Not only for a dramatic moment. Today. Send me into my actual life with Your love and Your message. Use my ordinary obedience for Your kingdom. Amen.
TODAY’S PRACTICE
Choose one person you can move toward today. Invite, encourage, forgive, serve, pray, or listen. Do one concrete thing that says, “Jesus, I am living under Your banner.”
