At The Orchard our desire is to Love God and Love people. Our success is not measured in how many are involved with our church.
Rather, by how many in our community are tasting the fruit of new life in Jesus so that our community reflects
His vibrant life, hope, freedom and purpose.
Daniel Self was raised locally in the Redstone, CO before deciding to leave for college in the South. Through his 15 years in Texas and Georgia he picked up a love for the Georgia Bulldogs but refused to pick up an accent. Daniel moved back to the Roaring Fork Valley and met his wife, Amy, a Virginia girl living in Aspen. They currently reside in Glenwood and have a son named Elijah and daughter Selah.
Daniel loves to inspire the faith of others and firmly believes in two things: that there is no greater calling than being a follower of Jesus and that there is no greater football team than that of the Denver Broncos. He is more than willing to discuss either one with you.
Dan was born and raised in upstate New York. After college he moved to Richmond, VA where he experienced God personally for the first time and life was never the same. After a few more years in the business world while volunteering as Young Life leader, he did his first mission trip which led him on staff with Athletes In Action. A few years after that he started working on his ThM at Dallas Seminary from which he graduated in 1999. Dan spent the next 5 years in Vail working as a part-time pastor, part-time ski instructor. He then moved to Aspen to take a full-time position with Crossroads Church as their Community Pastor. In 2018 he stepped back from full-time ministry for a personal reset and is incredibly excited to be back at it full-time with the Orchard Church. Dan loves to hike, golf, bike and ski and is still a gym rat as well.
Stacie was born in Oklahoma. She and her husband Lane have been married for 26 years and have four children. Stacie has an MBA with an emphasis in Accounting. Her passion for children led her away from the accounting world and landed her in a position at her church as the Associate Children’s Pastor. Her favorite aspect of working with children is being able to be “Jesus with skin on” for the children she come in contact with. She loves leading worship with children and watching them humbly worship our Creator! She loves teaching children to serve in the church and in their communities. “It is much easier to teach them to have a heart for service when they are young”.
Dr. Doug Self, and his wife, Rebecca were instrumental in founding our church in 1990. Not only does he enjoy preaching and teaching, but he likes taking guys camping, building relationships and helping men build a solid and authentic faith in Jesus. He has climbed all of Colorado’s fourteeners and has a doctorate from Denver Seminary. They have 3 married children and 7 Grandchildren!
Micah was born and bred in Southern Louisiana. After soaking in the beauty of the Valley, she and her husband Eric decided to relocate in 2013 to pursue a job in the cardiac cath lab in Glenwood Springs. Micah has played with several worship bands over the last few years but truly feels at home leading worship here at The Orchard. Micah’s heart is to see God’s people be free to worship authentically and honestly.
Ellen was raised on the East Coast and was fortunate to settle in the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley over six years ago. She found her Church Home at The Orchard while joining both a Community Group and Bible Studies Group. Ellen is a Child of God, and she is blessed to have two teenagers. She brings management, communication, and publishing skills to the team. Ellen has extensive years of professional non-profit and for-profit work experience. Her heart for others will be an asset to furthering the vision of The Orchard to Love God. Love people. When not in the office, you may also occasionally see Ellen on stage singing praise with the worship band.
Henry is a long time native of the Roaring Fork Valley, and grew up going to The Orchard Church. While attending Carroll College and obtaining a business degree, Henry discovered a true love for music and production. Before working at The Orchard, he produced two personal albums that reflect his life and his relationship with Jesus. With this, pastor Daniel gave Henry the opportunity to bring his talents and passions to The Orchard. He plays the acoustic and electric guitar every Sunday to help lead The Orchard body in worship. Although his production experience started with music and sound production, he has learned and developed professional level skills in video and broadcasting. Henry helps spread The Orchard’s message of “Love God and Love people” across the globe by creating and leading an amazing broadcasting and production team.
Caleb was born and raised in Melbourne, Fl for the first 20 plus years of his life. He graduated from Florida State University with a humanities degree where he met his wife, Stephanie. Caleb spent much of his career in the fishing industry until he and his wife decided to venture outside of the sunshine state and lean on their faith in traveling to the Colorado Rocky Mountains. They landed in Glenwood Springs, CO. While Caleb still guides fly fishing trips on the side and travels to fish occasional billfish tournaments, he has been called to full time ministry as the Ministry Director for the Carbondale area with Youth for Christ. As a part of his YFC role, he serves as The Orchard’s High School and Middle School pastor. Caleb has always had a heart for kids dealing with the stresses that come with being modern day youth. He talks about how his life was once changed for the better by his youth pastor in high school while he was dealing with such challenges, and that he wants to be that light for kids today.
