Volunteers are implementing the “252 Basics” curriculum to help your child grow in their relationship with Jesus. The curriculum is based on three basic principles. Wisdom, faith, and friendship. Associated with those principles are three truths:
- I will make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
The story of God reveals the character of God. That’s why 252 Basics is organized around key Bible stories that help kids discover Jesus and reflect His character to the world around them. Every month presents a new Life App to help children discover more about God’s character. And each Life App is unpacked through a weekly Bottom Line—a short phrase so easy to remember that it can be reinforced at home throughout the week.
252 Basics emphasizes the importance of loving and serving others throughout the year as children learn to live out God’s character through the monthly Life Apps.
Each week, your child will be welcomed by a loving volunteer in the classroom. For the first 20 minutes of class, the students and leader engage in a social time that includes catching up on the week, team building, and engaging games or activities that preview the daily lesson. Then, all school age children come together in the Kid Mountain Room for fun and engaging worship, Bible verse introduction or reinforcement, Bottom Line introduction, Bible Story time, and real life application of the daily lesson. Finally, children go back to their grade appropriate classrooms for Small Group time. This time is filled with application games, or activities to reinforce the daily lesson, Bible verse review, and prayer.
. . . AND JESUS GREW IN WISDOM AND STATURE AND FAVOR WITH GOD AND MAN. LUKE 2:52
