Day 5 — Surrender to the Real King

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

Romans 10:9 (NIV)
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Devotional
Palm Sunday forces a decision.
Will I accept Jesus for who He is… or walk away because He’s not who I wanted?
Many people want Jesus as a consultant.
Give advice.
Offer help.
Bring comfort.
But stay out of control.
But Jesus is not a consultant.
He is King.
And a King doesn’t take suggestions.
He takes the throne.
Following Jesus is not about adding Him to your life.
It’s about surrendering your life to Him.
He is not the King we expect.
But He is the King we need.

Reflection
Where in your life are you still in control instead of surrendering to Jesus?

Prayer
Jesus, I surrender my life to You.
Not just parts of it, all of it.
Be my King, not just my helper.
Lead me. Change me. Use me.
