Jesus Comes to the Shore: Day 2

Jesus Comes to the Shore: Day 2
Key Verse:
“At dawn Jesus was standing on the beach, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.” — John 21:4

Peter did not make his way back to Jesus. Jesus came to him. He came to the old life, the empty night, the place of disappointment, and the place of shame. That is grace. Jesus does not wait for us to get cleaned up before he comes near. He moves toward people in the places where they feel stuck, lost, and far away.

Questions:
Where do I need Jesus to meet me right now?
Do I believe Jesus comes close to broken people?
What would change if I truly believed he comes to my shore?

Takeaway:
Jesus does not wait at a distance. He comes near.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank you that you come close to me in the middle of my emptiness, not just after I have everything together.
