Day 5: Come To Jesus
Day 5: Come to Jesus
Read: Romans 8:1 and Psalm 23:3
The deepest rest your soul needs is not found in escaping your life.
It is found in coming to Jesus.
Psalm 23 says, “He refreshes my soul.” That is the level Jesus wants to reach. Not just your schedule. Not just your circumstances. Not just your emotions.
Your soul.
And Romans 8 says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
That means when you come to Jesus, you are not walking toward condemnation. You are walking toward grace.
The real burden.
The anxiety. The bitterness. The grief. The sin. The shame. The striving. The pressure you have been carrying alone.
Jesus can give rest because Jesus carried the weight.
He carried sin. He carried shame. He carried the cross. He carried death. And through His death and resurrection, He opened the way home to God.
So do not leave your soul at a distance from Jesus.
Come to Him.
He is not harsh toward weary people. He is gentle and humble in heart. And He gives rest for your soul.
Ask yourself:
Which invitation do I need most today?
Do I need to come to Jesus for the first time?
Do I need to come back after drifting?
Do I need to bring Him the real burden I have been hiding?
Prayer:
Jesus, I come to You. I believe You died for my sin and rose again. I receive Your forgiveness. I surrender my life to You. I bring You the real burden I have been carrying. Teach me Your way. Refresh my soul. Amen.
Today’s step:
Tell one trusted person what you are asking Jesus to help you carry, heal, or surrender.
