Day 3 - God Works In Setbacks

DAY 3 — GOD WORKS IN SETBACKS
READ — Philippians 1:12 (NIV)
Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.
REFLECT
  • Paul’s imprisonment looked like failure.

    • God used it to spread the gospel.
What looks like a setback may be part of God’s strategy.
  • Where has my life gone off script?
  • What emotions rise when I think about that situation?
READ — Genesis 50:20 (NIV)
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
REFLECT
  • God sees a bigger story than I do.

    • He can bring good from what others meant for harm.
  • Looking back, can I see any way God has used a past setback for good?
  • If I’m still in one, what would it look like to trust Him there?
  • What is one way I will choose trust over fear today in a situation that feels like a setback?
PRAYER
God, I don’t always understand my setbacks. But I choose to trust You in them. Show me where You are at work. Amen.
