Day 2 — The Great Exchange
Read: Philippians 3:7–9

• 7 I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.

Questions:

• These verses are called, “The Great Exchange” in the Bible. What is the trade happening here?
• What would it practically look like in my life to adjust to this way of living?
• What in my life is so important to me now, that actually won’t matter once this life has passed?
• Why am I dedicating my life to things that fade and missing out on the most important pursuits in life?

• How does performance-based faith affect your peace?
• What would it look like to live from acceptance instead of for it?

Jesus, I release my need to prove myself.
Help me live from what You’ve already done for me. Amen.
